The Journal of Data and Digital Innovation (JDDI) is committed to promoting open-access publishing and ensuring that authors retain rights over their work while allowing unrestricted access to published research.
1. Copyright Ownership
- Authors retain full copyright of their work.
- Upon acceptance, authors grant JDDI a non-exclusive publishing license, allowing the journal to publish and distribute the work.
- Authors are free to reuse, share, and distribute their published work without restrictions, provided proper attribution is given.
2. Licensing Terms
All published articles in JDDI are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0) or CC BY-NC 4.0 (depending on the author’s choice), which allows:

3. Author Rights
Authors have the right to:
- Distribute their work (e.g., in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic networks).
- Use their published content in future research, presentations, or educational materials.
- Deposit their manuscript (preprint, postprint, or final published version) in open-access repositories.
4. Third-Party Content
- If a manuscript includes third-party copyrighted material (figures, tables, images), authors must obtain written permission and provide proper attribution.
- JDDI is not liable for any copyright disputes arising from an author’s failure to obtain necessary permissions.
5. Commercial Use and Reuse
- Researchers, institutions, and educators may freely use, adapt, and distribute published articles under the selected Creative Commons license.
- For commercial republishing or adaptations, users must follow the terms of the specific Creative Commons license chosen by the author.
6. Copyright Infringement and Ethical Considerations
- JDDI follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to address any copyright violations or disputes.
- If an article is found to violate copyright laws, the journal reserves the right to retract the publication and notify relevant authorities.
7. Policy for Withdrawn or Retracted Articles
- If an article is retracted due to ethical violations, plagiarism, or legal issues, the original publication will remain online with a “Retracted” watermark and an official retraction notice.
- Withdrawn articles (before final publication) will be removed from the journal’s database without assigning a DOI.
By adopting this policy, JDDI ensures author rights, open-access dissemination, and ethical publishing practices while maintaining legal compliance.
